Alex Augier – sound, visuals and laser

hex/A\ is an audio, video and laser performance. Like a brush of light, the laser enhances the video, and the perception that we have of it, by its spatial character and spectral purity, incisive and dazzling. The project defends a crossover aesthetic both by its approach minimal, geometric, linked to data and organic, complex, linked to nature. It integrates new ways of performing and avant-garde interfaces specifically programmed for the project.

Alex Augier is a multidisciplinary new-media artist based in Paris. His work designs digital aesthetics in a musical and transversal perspective and takes mainly the form of singular audiovisual performances. His work thinks of audiovisual experiences as a specific field of creation in which all media interacts deeply with each other and in a definitive way. He defends an overview of the creative process where design, programming and technology are an integral part of the artistic project. His works have been presented at international festivals including Ars Electronica (Linz), Mutek (Buenos Aires), L.E.V (Gijon), Scopitone (Nantes), Sonar (Barcelona), Elektra (Montreal), Media Ambition Tokyo (Tokyo), Mapping (Geneva), Today’s Art (The Hague), Nemo (Paris), Sonica (Glasgow), Open Source Art (Gdansk), Multiplicidade (Rio), Athens Digital Arts Festival (Athens).
