Workshop led by Thomas Elbers a.k.a. Kypski
Turntablism is the art of scratching the turntable in a way that it becomes an instrument in itself, deriving from Hip-Hop culture. Syntablism is the art of using a turntable and mixer to create and / or manipulate sound with a modular synthesizer. Kypski’s mission is to perfect this technique to the next next-level, aiming to bring the music it holds within to a much wider audience in the near future. His live sets are improvisational electronic excursions, with sounds and music created right in the moment – literally ‘from scratch’. In this workshop Kypski will explore Turntablism as well as Syntablism, and will discover how two musical niches morph into one new niche.
