On Sunday afternoon on August 11th, at the charming corner of the Social Teahouse, Teodora Konstantinova and Radoslav Mehandzhiyski will decipher the notions of “fashion” and “manipulation”. Their lecture will be a visual narrative with contemporary art as the main character. Here’s what Teddy and Rado shared about their project.

1. What can we expect from you in Varna?

A new dose of curious intersections between different artistic media and the themes they deal with. We cannot wait to meet the Varna audience again and to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of Radar Festival!

2. For a second year you will present a lecture. What will it accentuate on?

Our topic will be “Fashion, Manipulation and Contemporary Art!”. We will present an exciting visual narrative juggling with the ambiguities of the notions of “fashion” and “manipulation”, where contemporary art will be the protagonist, with an emphasis on elements of theater and performance in the fashion “spectacle”.

3. Which three words describe the motivation behind your project?

Mission, dedication, love.

4. To what extent would you say your artistic devotion is inevitable?

It’s like the inevitable need for oxygen in order to exist.

5. If you could create a project in another artistic field or form, what would it be?

More and more often we feel the desire to stand on the other side – to be the artists ourselves, to try – on a purely intuitive level – artistic means.

6. 2019 is your personal year for…?

Rethinking and overleaping.

7. Often, the resident projects at our festival are acts of spontaneity or dependent on variables – and that makes them resistant to reenactment or repetition in the same way. In a sense, these projects remain here and now. What is your reflection upon the here? And upon the now?

Each of our events is strongly tied to the feeling here and now, the feeling of something exclusive and special happening that cannot be repeated – for both us and the audience. We can repeat the topics of the lectures, but the new environment, the new reactions greatly change the charge of each event.
